A winner of the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Academy Award at the young age of 25, Amrita Rao is all set for her successful innings at Bollywood. Marriages are forever, they should be forever.

I think marriages are falling apart these days because egos have become larger than life. Women have become independent and so they easily walk out of relationships. Earlier the woman would totally depend on the man. There will be ups and downs in marriage and we should deal with it gracefully. Selfishness will leave us lonely at the end of the day. In my profession, girls are more committed; if they see someone or are married then they stick to their commitment. Guys just get carried away. So it is very difficult to say whether I will marry an actor. There are a few successful marriages in the industry too, but still... I feel that the first choice should be the last choice and that is also the reason why I haven't got a boy friend. If I decide to go around with a guy, I would want to marry him otherwise it doesn't make sense. So not just marriage but I must say that relationships are forever. On Shoaib Akhtar: He is decent looking, but I don't know about his sex appeal. You need to have a good personality and moral qualities, apart from looks to be sexy. He is a good cricketer, but I don't think he is sexy.

Amrita Rao stepped in the world of films Raj Kanwar's 'Ab Ke Baras', (2002). She was later seen in Rajkumar Santoshi's 'The Legend of Bhagat Singh'. But all the while she was not much of a recognized face in the film industry. It was Ken ghosh's 'Ishq Vishq' which brought her to public notice. Success was not far away from her now. The other movies in line for her were 'Masti', 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Deewar- Let's Bring Our Heroes Home'. Of these once again 'Masti' and 'Main Hoon Na' were hit movies. Amrita was appreciated for her work in both the films. In 'Main hoon Na', she played a college girl absolute contrast to the one she played in 'Ishq Vishq'. Farah gave her a new hair style. She wore lot of trendy and western stuff. 'Masti' was a comedy film in which she played a house wife who behaves in a peculiar fashion. Her next couple of films like 'Vaah Life Ho To Aisi' and 'Shikhar' with Shahid Kapoor and 'Pyare Mohan' with Viveik Oberoi were not recieved very well at the box office. But still, her role was appreciated. Right now, she is basking in the glory of her success in Sooraj Barjatya's 'Vivah', in which she again stars opposite Shahid Kapoor for the 4th time.

amrita rao 2012 movie
The film has created a lot of records and is still going strong. As a result Amrita's popularity has risen by leaps and bounds. A few of her forthcoming films are 'My Name is Anthony Gonsalves' opposite newcomer Nikhil Dwivedi, in which she plays the role of an assistant director, a telugu film, 'Athidi' opposite Prince Mahesh and David Dhawan's 'Hook Ya Crook' with Siddharth (of Rang de Basanti fame). She will also be seen in a song in Sajid Khan's directorial debut 'Hey Baby'. On a personal note Amrita likes watching Sajid Khan's shows and reading books that have stories in them. She is a very kind hearted person who hates being selfish to people. She wants to be a social worker and help the mentally challenged kids.

However SRK's Farah Khan directed, MAIN HOON NA, was undoubtedly the biggest break of her career, where she delivered a spirited performance and won the hearts, despite the presence of stars like Shahrukh Khan, Sushmita Sen and others. When asked Amrita about Shahrukh Khan, and whether she would like to work with him again, she says, "I would definitely want to work with SRK. I have grown up watching his films. Actually I was not paired opposite him in MAIN HOON NA. Shahrukh is the ideal perception of a well bred man, a perfect person for any girl. I would definitely love to romance Shahrukh Khan on screen!" Well, it would surely be a delight to watch the beauty actress opposite the king of romance SRK, and we look forward to something that materializes in that direction.

Amrita Rao won millions of hearts with their sweet portrayal of innocent love in Ishq Vishk. That film made both of them stars and buzz about them linking up in real life too started doing the rounds. They came together four more times but could never recreate that magic – though they came close to doing so in Vivaah, their last film together. Six years later, they just might star opposite each other again. That too for a film being made by Ishq Vishk producer Kumar Taurani. Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet. While Amrita did tell a magazine that she will never say no to Taurani, she is yet to go on record that her co-star will be Shahid. The Kaminey actor is also keeping mum on the subject. We wonder if it’s just the fact that his last few films haven’t done well that is making Shahid cautious, or if he is wondering what to tell his current rumoured girlfriend, Priyanka Chopra. We just hope it all works out because Shahid and Amrita look great together. The pretty girl next door image holds true for Amrita Rao, even after almost ten years in the Hindi film industry. The traditionally beautiful actress made her debut at a very early age with late Raj Kanwar's AB KE BARAS (2002), but it was Ken Ghosh's ISHQ VISHQ, the very next year, opposite Shahid Kapoor, that saw her rise to fame. However SRK's Farah Khan directed, MAIN HOON NA, was undoubtedly the biggest break of her career, where she delivered a spirited performance and won the hearts, despite the presence of stars like Shahrukh Khan, Sushmita Sen and others. Amrita Rao sure knows how to let her hair down. The actor brought in the New Year in style by partying hard till the wee hours and indulging in her favourite foods and drinks. And before you start thinking that she's been a naughty girl, she laughingly clarifies, "Now, don't get ideas! By drinks, I mean only juice." Kicked about ushering in 2011 with a lot of love, good wishes and positive vibes, Amu talks to CS about the coming year and the one gone by The biggest highlight of 2010 was being back on board with the Rajshri family for my next film. They're like family to me, and after Vivaah, I really wanted to work with them. Unlike other years, 2010 didn't keep me too busy in front of the camera. made good use of the year making new friends from other fields (and keeping in touch with them, thanks to my new Blackberry), exploring new places in the city and connecting with spirituality.

And yes, last year, I became the proud aunt of a gorgeous baby girl, all thanks to my cousin in the US. Some times you need to come out of the pond to get a larger perspective of life! One of the fun things in 2010 was to discover Mumbai and its surroundings. She went to Dela Adventure, a resort in Lonavala where she did rock climbing, rappelling, bungee trampoline, archery and lots of adventure sports 30 feet above ground level. It was such an adrenaline rush. she also indulged myself at Bade Miyan, a place I had only heard of. Eating on the bonnet of my car reminded me of the college days.

 amrita rao 2011
I also went to the Nehru planetarium, which hasn't changed since the time she was a kid (laughs). Believe it or not, she also checked out the Rambo Circus. She was jumping out of my seat in sheer excitement. 2010 has taught her some important lessons, both on the professional and personal front. She have learnt to make sure that I have the right kind of people working for me, and that she work with the right people. She have also realised that happiness matters above everything else. So her mantra for 2011 is to be happy.

In the coming year, she only want to think happy thoughts and be in the company of positive people. Her last year's resolution was to polish my socialising skills, and she have fared quite well. In 2011, wish to work with Aamir Khan, whom admire greatly. Next, hope that the film Love you Mr Kalakar is a blockbuster, and that I get to work with Aditya Chopra.

No matter what you wear if you are comfortable with yourself it shows and makes you look beautiful. She thinks that confidence is the key of style.
